The city of Basora, on the plain of the Shatt al – Arab canal, proposes to construct a hospital as a way to regenerate a war-hit city. The project also takes advantage of the opportunity to design complementary buildings, not only to give support but also for leisure, and to germinate a new urban structure that could be extended, constituting a new centre in which the public areas are combined with the private. The different buildings are located within a large landscaped site and are bound by a perimeter circulation route. The distinct, specialised hospitals are grouped in the centre to connect with the general hospital that faces them and their central services. Located at the extreme ends of the site are the hotel buildings, the shopping centre, the restaurants and the car parks.
